Mozart’s effervescent Eine Kleine Nachtmusik opens the concert with its instantly recognisable charm, followed by Bach’s Violin Concerto in A minor — a work of yearning and melancholy, shot through with moments of technical brilliance that let the violinist soar. The second half is devoted to Vivaldi, beginning with his fiery La Follia , based on one of Europe’s oldest musical themes, reimagined over centuries by countless composers. Vivaldi transforms this simple ground bass into a dazzling sequence of variations, brimming with invention and virtuosity. The evening culminates in one of the greatest masterpieces of all time — The Four Seasons .
